God planted an idea into our family 18 years ago. Since then, that seed has blossomed into a business called Grandiflora Home and Garden which has more than exceeded what we ever expected it to! It hasn’t been perfect; there have been storms as well as sunshine along the way. After our mom's/business partner's unexpected passing in 2015... we have been reevaluating where Grandiflora is going; a lot of prayers have been uttered. The past two years, new possibilities and changes have arisen... but still no clear answers. Instead we continued to pray, work hard and patiently waited... until very recently. It’s only been within the last month that we have clearly felt God putting something on our hearts and minds.
With much prayer and family discussion, we’ve looked at the numbers, considered recent government issued mandates and pondered on future possibilities. We clearly felt God was giving us a “sign” that we should close our doors to everyday retail.
First, we want to tell you how very grateful and thankful we are for each of you. Those of you who have come to find us just recently... and you who have been shopping with us these 17+ years at Grandiflora. Thank you for all your loyal patronage and even your friendship. We have been blessed to be a part of each of your lives. Grandiflora has been involved in your homes, holiday parties, weddings, baby showers, funerals, and birthdays too! You've laughed with your moms and sisters here, chatted with a long lost friend over a cup of hot cocoa, brought your daughters in and taught them "not to touch with their hands...but to look with their eyes instead", your sons have honked at you from the car wondering if you’ll ever be done! LOL!! You've been shopped for here by your loving husbands and escaped here on your lunch break. You've driven by and said "I've got to get in there!" You've even re-used our gift bags for your sack lunches (don’t worry, so have we!). We were a place you thought of for an auction donation and we have been thrilled to help where we can. We have LOVED being a part of your lives in so many little ways; you have blessed us richly! We are tearfully smiling from ear to ear thinking of your many compliments and loyal patronage throughout the years.
May we end on a note of HOPE with one of our favorite verses Jeremiah 29 verse 11: "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope"... the following verse (12) then quotes: "In those days when you pray, I will listen." We feel that God has been listening to us and clearly answering our prayers. We know that God put us at Grandiflora for a reason; it was not coincidence. We have been honored to share our gifts and talents with you. Although we are sad to see Grandiflora Home and Garden come to an end, we are feeling extremely blessed that we can end on such a high note. Finishing strong with our heads held high and by our own choice is such a rare blessing in retail. We owe it to Him alone. Whatever He leads us to next is an exciting new adventure. What might that be? We’re not sure, but we do know it’s best left in His capable hands. We covet your prayers for our future endeavors. Stay tuned to our emails and social media to see where He leads us next.
Thank you again, and thanks be to God for all He has done... and continues to do... for each of us.
May you have a blessed Merry Christmas with those you love!
