There is something welcoming about a well-loved and cared for historical building. It is a place where we can all come to GATHER for so many different events. Gatherings by Grandiflora is the quintessential place where state of the art performance meets the charm of yesteryear. Where modern design gets a wink and a nod from the past. It's where young and old can come together and meet on the same level to celebrate life's many occasions. We look forward to sharing our little gem of a venue with you and your loved ones. We are just as excited to be offering it up to local businesses who care enough about their employees to enrich their lives with knowledge and wisdom through company retreats. Our main floor and garden area consists of many different options for entertaining. With a full catering kitchen at your disposal, you can easily go from practical business luncheon meetings by day…to fun social dinner gatherings by night.

 
 

The Great Room

There are various options for seating/dining configurations on the main level. You can accommodate a fair amount of people; it all depends on your seating requirements. 

  • If you prefer 60” round dining tables, you can seat from 48 comfortably to 72 in tight quarters.
  • If you prefer 8’ rectangle tables, you can seat from 48 comfortably to 72 in tight quarters.
  • If you are seating chairs in theater style rows with side aisles only, you can seat up to 85 comfortably. 
  • We also offer 30” round cocktail (high top) tables which accommodate 4-6 people standing.
  • Maximum standing room is up to 100 people in tight quarters; we recommend no more than 72.  

**Please be aware your seating area will be reduced if your caterer will be requiring a buffet. We recommend having your food plated when trying to accommodate the larger seating capacity. 

 
 

Main Floor Amenities

  • A custom key-code entry programmed just for you, for the full duration of your event. Feel free to come and go from the venue without forgetting a key. We will text/email you your temporary code in advance of the event.
  • We have our own parking lot to the south of the garden fence. There is also plenty of street parking available in our general vicinity. 
  • Wheel chair/ADA entry access is available at the rear of the building through our large wrought iron gates. Designated ADA parking is available adjacent to our rear parking lot, across the alley at Second Christian Reformed Church.
  • We provide two large single use restrooms (which are wheelchair accessible/ADA compatible). 
  • Both air-conditioning and heating are available keeping your event either cool or warm depending on any weather conditions.
  • We provide a convenient coat closet for your guests.
  • Dimmable lighting for just the right ambiance.
  • Free password protected wi-fi access both indoors, and out in the garden as well.
  • Sound system access with your cell phone’s personal streaming music on the SONOS app via our free custom coded wi-fi. Music streams both indoors and out. (A corded mic may also be added for a nominal fee; please inquire at the time of your booking.)
  • All folding chairs and tables for your event are included in the rental fee. Your options include:
    • 60" rounds (seat 6-8).
    • 8' rectangles (seat 6-8).
    • 30" cocktail table/high tops (accommodate 4-6 standing).
    • All plastic topped tables have light grey tops and dark grey bottoms.
    • Folding chairs that match the tables (seats up to 300 pound capacity).
    • Floor length black/white table cloths are available for a nominal fee. Inquire at time of booking.
  • We offer a large serving counter/bar for either beverages or food. This space includes an inconspicuous, modest refrigerator.
  • A kegerator is also available for a nominal fee. Please inquire for details at the time of your booking.
 
 

Kitchen Amenities

  • Our caterer’s kitchen includes a large work space, refrigerator, gas stove, sink and discreet back entry for your catering staff. 
  • In the event that you or your caterer should forget something, we also supply you with various kitchen tools like: coffee makers, pump-pots, assorted serving pieces, serving spoons, cream and sugar servers and water pitchers, chef's knives, mixing bowls, assorted pots and pans, etc. 

**Please be advised, our kitchen is not meant to be used as a commercial-prep kitchen per state law requirements.

 
 
 

Garden Amenities

  • During the warmer seasons, the garden area is also a part of the main floor rental. It includes a lovely pond with fountain and party lights. 
  • We offer outdoor umbrellas, chairs and tables to seat 16 people. 
  • A BBQ, heaters and various other amenities are available upon request for a nominal fee. Please inquire at the time of booking.
  • Large Italian wrought iron gates provide access to parked roadside catering food trucks.
  • Again, free password protected wi-fi and streaming music are also available in the garden.
 
 

Second Floor

Our second floor is both a beautiful backdrop for your future event and a state of the art audio/video playground. So, whether you are looking to celebrate, or educate...we have you covered on the second level of Gatherings. 

Also, remember….when you rent the second floor of Gatherings, you automatically get all the amenities of the main floor, kitchen and garden! The second floor is split into two spaces, the Gathering Room and the Library/Conference Room.

 
 

The Gathering Room

Gatherings by Grandiflora has seamlessly combined the charm of yesteryear with a state of the art audio/video system. These systems are available at only a few of the finest venues in Whatcom County. Whether you want to educate 85 employees for your day-time office retreat or simply show a wedding memory video…we have you covered! You could show music videos, dance and sing karaoke…or hook up an Xbox and play video games. You could even just watch a ball game or a movie with your friends. The possibilities are plentiful and the sound quality is amazing here on our brand new 133” projection screen. The entire A/V system operates with an easy to use iPad remote control and offers Sonos music, Solstice screen mirroring capabilities and a full PA system with cordless mic.

 
 

Seating Options for the Gathering Room

Once you figure out how you would like to utilize the abundant tech in the Gathering room, you can choose from various seating options in this large space. You’ll be able to accommodate a fair amount of people; it all depends on your seating requirements. Remember, all folding chairs and tables for your event are included in the rental fee.

  • If you prefer 60” round dining tables, you can seat 72 people. You would also have room to add a head table of 12 more, for a total of 84 people.
  • If you prefer 8’ rectangle tables, you can seat 96. You would also have room to add a head table of 12 more, for a total of 108 people.
  • If you are seating chairs in theater style rows with a center aisle only, you can seat from 98 comfortably to 118 in tight quarters. 
  • We also offer 30” round cocktail (high top) tables which accommodate 4-6 people standing.
  • Maximum standing room is up to 125 people in tight quarters.

**Please be aware your seating area will be reduced if your caterer will be requiring a second floor buffet. We recommend a main floor buffet or having your food plated when trying to accommodate the larger seating capacity on the second floor. 

 

Gathering Room Amenities

Please remember to check out our main floor amenities, which are automatically included in your second floor rental fee. Such info will be helpful for free password protected wi-fi questions, parking and kitchen info etc. 

 

Audio/Video System Basic Info

  • Wall mounted iPad (touch panel) for simple control of A/V (audio/video) system. 
  • Full sound PA system.
  • HD projector with 133” (11’) motorized screen.
  • Wireless laptop/mobile device connection system via the free Solstice app. 
  • HDMI wall outlet connection. 
  • DVD Player (must be requested in advance at the time of your booking). 
  • Audio stream system to play YOUR music via the free Sonos app. 
  • Wireless mic with second mic jack available (requires a nominal charge and must be requested at the time of booking). 
  • We offer a basic lectern and rolling cart for your presentation needs. 
  • Both “black-out” roller shades and “sun screen” roller shades are available for your use as needed.
  • Dimmable lighting for just the right ambiance. 
  • Heating and Air Conditioning for any kind of weather.
  • Two restrooms are available in the adjoining Library/Conference Room.
 
 


The Library/Conference Room

We are very excited about our Library/Conference room. This room is the most intimate of the 4 main spaces at Gatherings. With state of the art audio video options and old world charm you are sure to find a reason to gather together to either learn/discuss or laugh/celebrate. 

Seating: The Library/Conference Room is set up with 8 comfortably cushioned chairs at our century old farmhouse table. Use it to meet for business discussions or have a delicious catered dinner. You will have no problem getting comfy in this not-too-big style of a meeting room.


Library/Conference Room Amenities:

  • AUDIO/VIDEO BASIC SYSTEM:
  • 55” Flat panel TV.
  • Simple wireless laptop/mobile device content sharing connection via the Solstice App. 
  • Laptop/mobile device sound thru ceiling speaker.
  • House sound available through the Sonos App.
  • Dimmable lighting for just the right ambiance. 
  • Sunshade roller blinds for extra sunny days.
  • Heating and Air Conditioning for every type of weather.
  • Two restrooms are also available.
